A Special Place Remembered With Love
Mya’s Place has always held a special meaning for the community of St Paul’s Catholic Primary School in Billingham. The beautiful willow tunnel, planted in memory of Mya - a cherished pupil who sadly passed away at the age of six - has been a place of comfort, reflection and joy for many years.
Preserving a Precious Legacy
Due to ongoing building work, the original willow tunnel had to be removed. Determined to preserve its spirit, Andy, the school’s Site Manager, carefully took cuttings from the original willow. These shoots have since been lovingly nurtured, ensuring that Mya’s legacy will continue to grow.
A Meaningful Moment With the Student Council
Representatives from the Student Council joined Melissa and Andy to plant the young willow cuttings. These will be safely looked after until they can take pride of place in the new school grounds.
A Living Tribute of Hope and New Life
The new willow plants are a beautiful symbol of memory, resilience and renewal. As they grow, future generations of children will play, dream and make memories beneath branches that began with Mya’s Place - carrying her story forward with love and hope.
