A Wonderful Start to Family Reading Fridays
At St Paul’s Catholic Primary School in Billingham, Reception kick‑started their very first Family Reading Session - and it was an absolute hit! The children were buzzing with excitement as they settled in to listen to the wonderful stories shared by the grown‑ups who joined them.
Building a Love of Reading Together
The session offered so much more than storytime. The children benefited hugely from hearing a variety of voices, talking about characters, predicting endings and exploring the magic of books. These small moments of shared reading help build vocabulary, confidence and a lifelong love of stories.
Looking Forward to More Storytelling Fun
The enthusiasm in the room was unmistakable, and the children (and staff!) are already counting down to next Friday’s session. With more stories to explore and more families joining in, these weekly events are quickly becoming a highlight of the week.
A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Families
A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to read with us. Your support means the world - and makes such a difference to the children’s learning journey. What a lovely way to celebrate the Year of National Storytelling!
