Experiencing Secondary School Life

Year 5 pupils from St Paul’s Catholic Primary School in Billingham recently visited St Michael’s Catholic Academy for an exciting taster day.

The visit gave the children the opportunity to experience life in a secondary school setting, helping them build confidence and prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.

Following a Secondary School Timetable

Throughout the day, pupils followed a secondary school timetable, moving between lessons and taking part in breaktime and lunchtime routines. This provided a valuable insight into the structure of a typical day at St Michael’s Catholic Academy.

The children embraced the experience enthusiastically and enjoyed getting a feel for what secondary school life is really like.

Exciting Lessons Across the Curriculum

During their visit, pupils took part in a range of engaging lessons, including Mathematics, Science, PE and cooking.

These hands-on activities allowed the children to develop new skills, explore different subjects and enjoy learning in a new environment.

Looking Ahead to the Future

The taster day was a rewarding and enriching experience that gave pupils a greater understanding of the opportunities available at St Michael’s Catholic Academy.

The children represented St Paul’s brilliantly and returned to school with plenty of positive memories from a fantastic day.
