Success in ‘Stones That Speak’ Competition
St Paul’s Catholic Primary School in Billingham is proud to celebrate outstanding creative success after taking part in the Stockton Council ‘Stones That Speak’ poetry illustration competition.
The competition attracted an impressive 383 entries, showcasing creativity from across the local area. From these, just 17 winners were selected, making it a remarkable achievement that two St Paul’s pupils were chosen.
A Proud Achievement
Being named among the winners is a significant accomplishment, highlighting the pupils’ imagination, artistic skill, and dedication. Their work will now form part of a special collaborative design, created by artist Adele Catchpole.
This exciting piece will be:
- Unveiled on 20th June
- Displayed on the Community Art Wall for months to come
This provides a wonderful opportunity for the children’s creativity to be shared and celebrated within the wider community.
Inspiring Creative Opportunities for All
While this is a fantastic achievement for the winners, St Paul’s is equally proud of every pupil who entered the competition. Their creativity, effort, and enthusiasm have been truly inspiring.
Families are also warmly encouraged to attend the upcoming event, which will include:
- Painting and drawing activities
- Printing workshops
- Poetry sessions
- Opportunities to contribute to the Community Art Wall
The event links to the Stockton International Riverside Festival (31 July – 2 August), offering even more ways for children to engage with arts and culture.
Celebrating Creativity Together
Events like this help to nurture creativity, build confidence, and bring the community together through shared artistic experiences.
A huge well done to all pupils who took part — your talent and hard work have made everyone at St Paul’s incredibly proud.
