Admission Arrangements

The school welcomes visits by prospective parents/carers prior to applying for a nursery or school place. Please telephone the school to arrange an appointment to look around the nursery/school and meet the staff.

School

Stockton Local Authority co-ordinates admission to all Primary Schools. For more information on the Local Authority Admission Procedures please follow this link.

Leave of Absence

The Governing Body’s aim is to encourage good attendance so that the children achieve the best educational outcomes.

Following guidance from the Department for Education (DfE) the Governing Body has agreed to delegate authority to the Headteacher to determine the authorisation of Leave of Absence from school during term time. Term time holidays will not be authorised.

The Headteacher will consider each application for leave of absence on a case by case basis and will inform parents/carers, in writing, of the decision.

Reporting a Pupil Absence

If a pupil is unable to attend, parents should telephone the school by 10.00 am on the first day of absence.

If no contact or message is received from parents by 10.30 am, the school will telephone or try to make contact to confirm the absence.

When the child returns to school he/she should bring a note explaining the reason for absence as, by law, the school must account for all absences.

If the child is going to be absent from school for a medical appointment, a Medical Appointment form must be completed and returned to their class teacher. Forms are available from the entrance porch in downloadable documents folders.

Nursery

If you are interested in applying for a place for your child, nursery application forms are available from the school office. Please note admission to the nursery does not guarantee a school place.

School Uniform

School uniform must be worn at all times. Full details of uniform can be found in the Prospectus. Please note that all clothing should be clearly labelled with your child’s name. Winter uniform must be worn from October Half Term until the Easter holidays. Children may change from winter uniform to summer uniform at the beginning of the summer term (weather permitting). No extreme hair styles or uniform will be acceptable. No jewellery, other than a watch, make-up or nail varnish should be worn. School ties and PE bags are available from the school office. Uniform items incorporating the school logo and PE kit are available from Rawcliffes Schoolwear Centre, 36 Prince Regent Street, Stockton, TS18 1DF, telephone 01642 636650.
